OrcaFlex User Group 2007

This year the OrcaFlex User Group visited Aberdeen, Houston, Paris, Stavanger, Rio, Kuala Lumpur and Perth. We had a total of 170 attendees – thank you all for coming and helping to make the events such a success. We are already planning the 2008 meetings and will publish details in due course on the main user group meeting page.

The feedback response was excellent again with most people handing or posting their forms to us. Thank you. Your thoughts and ideas are always welcome (at any time!) and always noted. The comments have been constructive and informative. We have updated the development plans accordingly.

The feedback in brief:

  • Attendees still found the day very informative and useful, overall attendees were happy with the format and style.
  • The presentation introducing the recent developments in OrcaFlex and planned future development was well received and continues to be a cornerstone of these meetings.
  • Although most of you enjoyed the run through of the website, there were many lamenting the loss of hints and tips. We shall consider bringing that back. Remember to look out for more hints in our newsletters.
  • The other presentations were, on the whole, well received.

The guest speakers presentations were all of a high standard and very interesting and illuminating to us at Orcina. Of course they do give us all a chance to sit down and relax for 30 minutes which is always welcome on such a busy day! Many thanks to this year's speakers: Camille LaPierre (CGG Veritas), John Gould (Intec), Mathieu Boisne (Technip), Anders Eide and Tonje Spangelo (APL), Nelson Galgoul (Suporte) and Malcolm Bowie (First Energy Dev. Ltd).

We came away from the meetings with a very large list of suggested future software developments. These have now been added to our development list. For information, short and medium term development plans for OrcaFlex can be found on the OrcaFlex Support page.

We look forward to seeing you all again in 2008.
