Hoses and umbilicals: Mass per unit length

The line type wizard derives mass for hoses and umbilicals from their diameter.

Hoses

For each type of hose the mass per metre $m$ is estimated as a function of inner diameter \begin{equation} m = \begin{cases} 0.7253\, I\!D\ \text{ te/m} &\text{for high pressure } (55\%-145\%) \\ 0.3642\, I\!D\ \text{ te/m} &\text{for low pressure } \\ 0.1844\, I\!D\ \text{ te/m} &\text{for fold-flat } \end{cases} \end{equation}

Umbilicals

For umbilicals, mass per metre $m$ is estimated as a function of outer diameter \begin{equation} m = 0.7253\, O\!D\ \text{ te/m } (35\%-170\%) \end{equation}
